The Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon wine country, with gentle sloping rolling hills stretching over fifty miles wide between the Coast range and the Cascade range. You will discover numerous Willamette valley scenic drives from Banks in the north, to Elvira further south. Highway 47 to McMinnville, and then Highway 99 West, is a good place to start on the west side of the valley. On the east side, the drive from Mount Angel to Silver Falls is absolutely stunning. The drive through Silver Falls state park is a microcosm of the northwest, with easy to moderate hiking trails that pass postcard pristine waterfalls.

There are a lot of people that like to travel last minute. There is a sort of rush from being able to successfully negotiate a great travel weekends deal that works out to the benefit of all involved. But if you find that this is your preferred way to plan your travel adventures then perhaps you should look into a more reliable way to find them in the first place. Chances are if you have done this more then a few times then you are probably solely relying on the deals you can find on the many discounted travel websites that are easy to find. The issue with this is that most of them get there inventory from the same place and they don’t have as much inventory to choose from as the travel clubs that have been created to serve the traveling public.

A great idea for an Oregon romantic getaway is to spend a weekend wine tasting and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Willamette Valley and central Oregon.  Most people do not think of Oregon when they think of wine country, with California’s lovely Napa Valley just down south.  But Oregon’s vineyards are growing!
